We strive for tranparency

Market leader for a reason

Dedicated to find your Danish roots

Hiring a professional genealogist is greatly a matter of confidence and it is difficult to form a relationship of trust prior to commiting the first task. This is the very reason why transparency and trustworthiness are essential values for My Danish Roots. And we are proud to experience that our customer find we are living up to our values; please take a few minutes to read the customer feedback from more than 250 customers yourself. We want to emphasize that the lists are complete; we don't edit the wordings nor ignore possible disappointed customers.

My Danish Roots is a full-service genealogist research company based in Denmark with expertise in a variety of tasks and working with a range of customers. Since the starting of My Danish Roots 1 April, 2013 we have completed more than 400 projects for customers all over the World.

Our way of working

1  After ascertaining the information you've provided, we do a no-obligation preliminary search. The purpose is to see how easy or hard it will be to get the search started. The outcome makes it easier for you to decide if you want to go on.

2 We outline a search after we have made an agreement for a limited number of hours; whatever you, the customer, are comfortable with.

During the project, we keep you informed about the progress of the search. You can terminate the agreement at any time during the process and unused hours will be refunded in full.

You decide if you want or need to extend the search based on your knowledge of the previous search.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Your team at My Danish Roots

~~ My Danish Roots ~~ Your trusted partner

We offer to help you with all kinds of Danish genealogy research; and to tailor it to your needs and do on your terms as we are confident that you can benefit from our long experiences and local knowledge.

Non-Danish genealogists are faced with numerous challenges. The old Danish language is even more difficult to understand than Danish today. The practise of how Danish family names were composed is confusing and finding ancestors or descendants in Denmark is often very difficult because many immigrants Anglicized or shortened their first and/or family names. Finally, it is very easy to confuse all the Danish parishes, districts and counties as they were changed from time to time.

All findings are substantiated by copies of the sources. Further, if required, we also transcript and translate the records which often produces the extra information that gives your family tree flesh and blood.

We are member of Association of Professional Genealogy (APG) and we follow their Code of Ethics and Standards and Guidelines to the letter. We charge of course only for our net working hours and we don't add any other costs at all. Also, you can cancel the search at any time and get a refund for the unused fee.

If you are looking to trace your Danish ancestors or to find family members living in Denmark, you are very welcome to send an email with the information you already got and what you want to achieve. You are of course also very welcome if you have any queries.

We give all enquiries our diligent attention.
